DESCRIPTION

My research started with family photos of grandfathers who served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. I decided to use the archetypes of their uniforms as the basis of my collection. This includes pieces such as the sailor jumper, pea coat, and broad-fall front trousers.

My other line of research was into early 20th century lingerie and pajamas. I specifically looked at 1930s and 40s bras, girdles, bed jackets, and slip dresses. Theses pieces became my inspiration for colors, fabrics, and details, such as bows and lace insertion.
