DESCRIPTION

This project seeks to integrate the glamour and silhouettes of 1930s evening wear with the materials and finishes of early 2000s sweatsuits in a 5 look capsule collection. Specifically, we researched the brand Juicy Couture and their use of velour jersey, low waisted sweatpants, and very cropped t-shirts.

Our research of the 1930s focused on designers like Lanvin and her use of large volumes and draping. The bow motif also came from this 30s inspiration and is used in draping and embellishment. The use of thousands of hand placed rhinestones came from both references. They have been applied in every look in a lace scallop pattern or in a bow motif.
